ONE INJURED DURING HOME INVASION ROBBERY IN THE 1700 BLOCK OF STANFORD DRIVE

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

On 08/29/15 at approximately 3:10 A.M. officers were dispatched to a robbery with a gun in the 1700 block of Stanford Drive.  When officers arrived they found an 18-year-old male victim with apparent lacerations to his face.

Preliminary investigation revealed two male suspects kicked in the front door to a residence in the 1700 block of Stanford Drive while the three residents (18-year-old male, 50-year-old female and 93-year-old male) were sleeping.  The suspects approached the 18-year-old male resident and demanded money.  One suspect was armed with a handgun and hit the 18-year-old resident in the face with the gun causing injury to his face.  The suspects encountered the female resident as they were leaving the residence.  No property was taken and the other two residents were not injured.  The male victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The two suspects were described as black males, one possibly being mixed race.  This is all the information available for release at this time.  Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Columbia Police Department or CrimeStoppers at (573) 875-TIPS to remain anonymous.
