On August 15, several area youth captured honors in the NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition at Columbia's Cosmo Park. The winners of each age group are as follows:
Girls: Allie Cummings, ages 6-7, 39 points; Addie Morris, ages 8-9, 143 points; Olivia Taylor, ages 12-13, 129 points.
Boys: Alec Best, ages 6-7, 74 points; Izzy Golden, ages 8-9, 145 points; Peyton Thomas, ages 10-11, 141 points; Brady Whelihan, ages 12-13, 234 points; Andrew Whelihan, ages 14-15, 307 points.
All winners will move on to a sectional competition in Jefferson City on September 27. They could qualify for the team championship at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis in conjunction with a St. Louis Rams game. Winners at the team championship will have the opportunity to compete in the National Competition to be held on the site of an NFL playoff game, all expenses paid.
