THE COLUMBIA POLICE DEPARTMENT DOES NOT CONDONE THE COLUMBIA MO POLICE OFFICERS' ASSOCIATIONS FACEBOOK POST
On August 9, 2015, The Columbia MO Police Officers' Association (CPOA) shared a post on Facebook referencing "Darren Wilson Day - Aug 9, 2015". This post has served to inflame the emotions of some in our community. The Columbia Police Department is working hard to strengthen community relations in Columbia and is committed to developing positive relationships with the people we serve.
The Columbia Police Department is a separate entity from CPOA and does not in any way condone the use of social media, or any other medium, to promote divisive messages in our community. The Columbia Police Department will not allow a statement such as this to hinder our constant efforts to open the lines of communication with all people in our community.
Further media inquiries regarding CPOA should be directed to Dale Roberts, Executive Director, at [email protected]create new email.
