URGENT - Please broadcast during morning news if possible.
The parking plaza will NOT reopen as scheduled today due to issues with a sealant not curing fully.
We hope to have the Parking Plaza reopen by 6 am on Wednesday, July 15.
Original release:
The parking plaza at 8th and Walnut will reopen on Tuesday, July 14, at 6:00 am. While the parking plaza was closed for maintenance, several ADA spaces were relocated and improved. Per ordinance, when an ADA parking space is maintained and improved, once the space reopens, normal parking fee's apply to the ADA space. ADA parking in the 8th and Walnut Parking Plaza will no longer be free.
One elevator will remain out of service at the 8th and Walnut Parking Plaza as we await parts and a contractor to effect repairs. Because several ADA spaces in the garage were relocated closer to this elevator, we will continue to offer free ADA parking in the alley between the City Building and the Parking Plaza in any of the marked ADA parking spaces. As soon as the elevator is repaired, the 24 minute parking will return.
We appreciate our customers patience while we cleaned, repaired, and improve the 8th and Walnut Parking Plaza.
