With July 4th occurring on a Saturday, the City of Columbia will observe the holiday on Friday, July 3. Administrative offices will be closed.
Normally that would cause a 1 day delay to residential curbside refuse and recycling collection. However, the employees have requested to work on Friday, July 3 to be able to be home and celebrate the actual holiday with family.
Please note that residential curbside refuse and recycling collection will occur as normal on Friday, July 3. The Landfill will be open from 7:00 am to 2:00 PM.
The Household Hazardous Waste Collection site will be closed on Saturday, July 4.
If you have questions about Solid Waste Operations on July 3, please post your question or call us at 573-874-6291.
