Construction is complete and the pedestrian bridge on Hinkson Creek Trail at Capen Park is now open to the public.
Work began on the bridge last fall. Originally, the project included renovation of the existing bridge. However, the contractor found structural damage and a replacement bridge was recommended. Because of the grant funding involved, permission had to be obtained from the grant agency to change the scope of the project, causing the project to be delayed.
The bridge replacement was funded by the voter-approved Park Sales Tax and a Recreational Trails Program grant through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
