Cruise the Creeks Bikes and Trees; Bringing Green Interests Together

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

GetAbout Columbia, in partnership with the Public Works Stormwater Utility Education Program, will host the third session of their Cruise the Creeks Bicycle Ride Series starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 6.  Saturday's theme is Bikes and Trees: Bringing Green Interests Together.  Cyclists should meet at the Flat Branch Park playground, 1400 Locust St.

Cyclists will enjoy a 9-mile educational ride along the MKT and Hinkson Creek Trails.  Dan Schneiderjohn, local cycling and tree enthusiast will lead the ride and provide helpful tips on how to identify native trees along with their unique ecological benefits and medicinal uses. GetAbout Columbia staff will provide pre-ride and trailside assistance for minor bike repair needs.   Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Helmets required.
