SHOOTING NEAR THE 200 BLOCK OF WEST SEXTON
On 5/19/15 at 11:56 A.M., officers were dispatched to a physical disturbance in the 200 block of West Sexton Road. Officers arrived on scene and found one male victim on West Sexton Road with a gunshot wound to the leg. The male shooting victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation at the scene revealed the male and a female were in a physical disturbance on Sexton Road. The male grabbed a shovel and walked towards the female. Another male subject came out of a nearby residence in the 200 block of West Sexton. The male armed with a shovel began walking towards the male who came out of the residence. The male who came out of the residence was armed with a handgun. At least one shot was fired at the man armed with the shovel. This is preliminary information gathered at the time of the initial investigation and the investigation is ongoing.
Detectives are on the scene and investigating the incident. Officers and detectives are not looking for any suspects.
There have been no arrests made. Updated information will be released once it becomes available.
