ARMED ROBBERY IN THE 200 BLOCK OF EAST WALNUT
On 2/11/15 at 11:58 A.M., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of East Walnut Street in reference to an armed robbery.
The investigation revealed a black male was approached by two black males in the rear parking lot of Boone County National Bank. One of the two suspects was armed with a handgun and demanded money from the victim. The victim fled into the bank yelling for employees to contact the police department. The suspects fled in a van with no further description.
There was no one injured during the robbery. Boone County National Bank placed the bank on lockdown for safety concerns for customers and employees. Columbia Public Schools placed Grant Elementary and Douglass High School on lockdown for approximately twenty minutes for safety concerns for employees and students.
SUSPECT'S DESCRIPTION:
Suspect 1: Black male, approximately 40 years old, last seen wearing dark clothing and armed with a handgun.
Suspect 2: Black male, approximately 40 years old, last seen wearing dark clothing.
