DETAILS OF INCIDENT:

Crash occurred when vehicle 1, a 96 Isuzu Rodeo, was traveling south on Mo 163 (Providence Rd) crossing Nifong and pedestrian 1 was crossing Mo 163 (Providence) westbound just south of Nifong.  Driver of vehicle 1 did not see pedestrian 1 and struck pedestrian 1.

Pedestrian 1 was transported from the scene to the University of Missouri Hospital.  At the time of this release, Pedestrian 1's condition is listed as stable and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Impairment by drugs and/or alcohol by driver 1 is not a factor.  Further Careless driving and/or violation of the traffic signal by driver 1 is not believed to be a factor.

Initial investigation revealed pedestrian 1 was crossing Mo 163 (Providence Rd) at Nifong in the crosswalk but in violation of the pedestrian crossing signal.
