Parks and Recreation Offers Winter K.E.Y. Lock-Ins

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Parks and Recreation is planning the winter sessions of the quarterly K.E.Y. (Keep Embracing Youth) overnight lock-in events for teens between the ages of 11 and 15.

The next lock-in for boys will be held from 8:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Friday, January 16. The next girls lock-in will be held the night of Friday, January 23. Lock-ins take place at the Armory Sports Center (701 E. Ash) and cost $5 per teen.

The purpose of K.E.Y.S. is to provide a supervised, learning and mature experience for youth. The lock-ins include group challenges, board and party games, video games, sports, game tournaments, and food. Youth also participate in structured discussions that involve topics such as respect, making smart choices, careers, online safety, relationships, and much more.

Please contact the Armory staff at 817-5077 for more information. Pre-register by calling Parks and Recreation at 874-7460.
