GetAbout Columbia, in partnership with Columbia Parks and Recreation, is offering a free presentation and demonstration on electric bicycles at the ARC (1701 W. Ash) from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, August 25.
Electric bikes, also known as e-bikes or pedal-assist bicycles, are in high demand in European and Asian cities. Cyclists in the United States are starting to pay attention to this global trend. Electric bicycles are designed with a built-in motor that activates either by peddling or throttle assistance.
Come to the workshop and see what the buzz is all about! A short presentation and Q&A session will be followed by an opportunity for attendees to test ride a variety of styles.
Call GetAbout Columbia at 874-7460 for additional information.
Funding for GetAbout Columbia is provided by the Federal Highway Administration's Non-Motorized Transportation Program.
