Clark Lane Roadwork - Urgent Safety Message

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

The Clark Lane Non-Motorized Safety Project work shifted to night work on Monday, July 28. The decision to shift to night work, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., by the contractor was to reduce traffic issue and increase safety for the workers.

On the first night of roadwork, two motorist drove around flagmen on the project resulting in two near miss head on collisions.

The flaggers are well identified with reflective vests, are holding lighted and reflective traffic directional signs, and are clearly visible.
