Tree and limb removal following storm

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Many of our customers are accessing damage and finding tree limbs down after the storms last evening.

Currently, there are no plans for special pick up or relaxed requirements concerning curbside disposal. Our crews priorities are to clear streets and sidewalks and assist Water and Light.

We are seeing many residents piling debris curbside and on sidewalks. We do ask that you please keep the sidewalks clear from debris in front of your home or business. We also ask that you understand we can not pickup tree limbs/debris unless they meet the following criteria -

  • Limbs should be cut to lengths of no greater than four feet in length, two feet in diameter, and bundled with string or twine in bundles not to exceed 50 pounds. The bundles can be placed curbside on your regular collection day.
  • Customers can also take tree limbs to any of the three drop off sites; Capen Park, Parkside, or the Landfill.

If you are unable to cut and bundle tree limbs or haul them to one the three drop off sites, please consult with a private, licensed, insured, and bonded tree removal service. As a last reminder, commercial tree services are prohibited from dumping tree limbs/debris at the Capen and Parkside mulch sites.

We appreciate you helping us clean up Columbia after the storms, and we appreciate you patience while our crews work to clear roadways and assist Columbia Water & Light in thier power restoration efforts.
