UPDATE SHOTS FIRED DOUGLASS PARK

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

On 06/29/14 at approximately 1130 hours, officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired at Douglass Park, 400 Providence Road North.  The shooting suspect reportedly left the area in a gold colored Cadillac.  Officers discovered cartridge casings in the parking lot.  No victim was located. 

Investigators were contacted to continue with the investigation.  Cooperating Citizens identified the shooter as Anthony Prince.  The suspect vehicle was located at the Midway Budget Hotel.  Investigators were able to confirm the suspect vehicle and the vehicle at Midway Budget Hotel were one in the same through the use of surveillance video.  

Investigators located Anthony Prince at the Midway Budget Hotel.  Officers obtained consent to search the room and located corroborating evidence of the crime.  Prince admitted to being in possession of a handgun at Douglass Park and admitted firing at least three shots in Douglass Park after being robbed.

As a result of this investigation, Anthony Prince was arrested for armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, and felon in possession of a firearm.
