SEARCH FOR SUSPICIOUS PERSON HAS COME TO AN END

The Columbia Police Department was notified today at around noon that the University of Missouri Police Department was called to a deceased person near the Trowbridge Livestock Center on the MU Campus. The Columbia Police Department confirmed with the University of Missouri Police Department that the deceased male was the individual who fled from police yesterday at 7:49 P.M. in the 3100 block of Rock Quarry Road. The deceased male's identity is not being released until next of kin can be notified.

Late yesterday, The Columbia Police Department received a report from a female victim of a peeping tom in the 2500 block of Bluff Boulevard that actually occurred on May 1, 2014 at approximately 5:30 A.M. The female victim identified the subject from above as the person who was looking in her bedroom window when she was getting dressed after taking a shower. The Columbia Police Department made phone contact with the male subject that officers needed to speak to him about this as well as other incidents in the area.  The subject was aware officers were looking for him.

When officers tried to make contact with him last night he ran in the wooded area NE of Rock Quarry Road. At this time, the Columbia Police Department is still gathering information to see if this is related to the other recent incidents as well as the incidents in 2013. The investigation is still ongoing.

If anyone has any information about the recent burglaries/sexual offenses or any suspicious activity in your neighborhood, please contact the Columbia Police Department non-emergency number at (573)442-6131 or 9-1-1 immediately.
