The City of Columbia Public Works Department will host an interested parties meeting on Monday, April 14, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Mezzanine Conference Room at City Hall, 701 E Broadway to present to Interested Parties a project to connect the Green Meadows & Kohl's-Walmart driveway signal and the Green Meadows & Grindstone Parkway signals.
The project will enhance traffic flow by allowing signals on roadways which feed traffic to the Grindstone Parkway Corridor signals to communicate with the signals along Grindstone Parkway. There will be signal component modifications and fiber optic signal communications work. Some minor roadway construction may occur in localized areas.
Some sidewalk may be removed and replaced. There will be some utility work including conduits and wiring. There may be some intermittent lane closures with the project, but no full road closures are anticipated. Anticipated construction is summer/fall 2014. The project is expected to take less than 60 days for completion.
Motorist, cyclist, and pedestrians should use caution in the area while installation of the fiber optic lines take place.
