Short Street Garage Hourly Paid Parking Available for True/False Film Festival

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

The Short Street Parking Garage, 1110 E Walnut, will make accommodations during the True/False Film Festival for an additional 256 hourly parking spaces.  

People may park in the garage using the following instructions:

1. When entering the garage, proceed to the entry gate arm.  Do not park in any space outside of the gated area.

2. Follow the instructions at the ticket-dispensing machine to obtain a ticket.  Keep your ticket with you, you will need it to pay upon leaving the garage. 

3. Find a space marked as "Hourly" on the wall to park in. If there is not a vacant space marked as "Hourly" in the garage, you may exit within 10 minutes of entering the garage without having to pay by inserting your ticket into the exit gate arm machine.   Do not park in a space marked as "Permit".  Failure to comply with these instructions may result in ticketing and/or towing of your vehicle.  

4. Upon returning to the garage, you have a few different options for payment:

A) You may pay on foot utilizing cash, coin, or credit/debit card in a payment machine located in the SW and NE elevator lobbies. Touch the screen and follow the instructions. You will be asked to insert the ticket you received upon entering first. Make sure to do so with the mag-stripe up and to the right. The machine will calculate your payment total based on how long you have parked and ask you to either insert cash, coins, or a credit/debit card.  If utilizing a credit/ debit card, insert the card the same way your ticket was inserted, mag-stripe up and to the right. Upon successful payment, take your validated ticket and receipt back to your vehicle. Once you have approached the exit gate, you will be asked to insert your validated ticket into the machine, mag-stripe up and to the right. Once the machine reads your ticket, the gate arm will raise and let you out of the garage.

B) You may pay on foot using credit/debit card only at the payment machine located in the NW lobby.   Touch the screen and follow the instructions. You will be asked to insert the ticket you received upon entering first. Make sure to do so with the mag-stripe up and to the right. The machine will calculate your payment total based on how long you have parked and ask you to insert a credit/debit card. Insert the card the same way your ticket was inserted, mag-stripe up and to the right. Upon successful payment, take your validated ticket and receipt back to your vehicle. Once you have approached the exit gate, you will be asked to insert your validated ticket into the machine, mag-stripe up and to the right.Once the machine reads your ticket, the gate arm will raise and let you out of the garage.

C) You may pay from your vehicle using credit/debit card only at the payment machine located at the exit gate.   Touch the screen and follow the instructions. You will be asked to insert the ticket you received upon entering first. Make sure to do so with the mag-stripe up and to the right. The machine will calculate your payment total based on how long you have parked and ask you to insert a credit/debit card. Insert the card the same way your ticket was inserted, mag-stripe up and to the right. Upon successful payment, the gate arm will raise and let you out of the garage.

Payment for all options is $0.50 per hour Thursday the 27th and Friday the 28th of February 8AM to 6PM. Parking on the weekends, in both spaces marked as "Hourly AND Permit" is free. 

Should you misplace the ticket you received upon entering the garage, make your way to one of the lobby pay machines and use the "Lost Ticket" option, which will charge the maximum daily rate of $5 to receive a validated ticket that will let you exit the garage.
