Columbia Public Works is pre-treating priority routes (primarily hills, curves and intersections) with a liquid salt brine solution in anticipation of potential freezing rain overnight.
The National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory from midnight tonight until noon on Monday.
An 8 person crew will report at 3:00 am to monitor and respond to any changes in road conditions. Additional crews can be called in if needed.
Motorist are urged to monitor road and weather conditions and be prepared for the potential of slick roadways on the Monday morning commute.
