The Columbia Regional Airport maintenance crew's hard work overnight paid off keeping runways clear for today's incoming and outgoing flights after severe winter weather hit mid-Missouri Friday night.
Airport Manager, Don Elliott, reports that crews used sodium acetate to clear runways, anFFA approved runway deicer. The deicer was able to battle the slick conditions and allow flights to safely resume for customers.
Maintenance crews are now working on treating ramps and taxiways, and don't anticipate the weather conditions to delay any flights today.
Customers can always check their flight status at FlyMidMo.com, or by checking with their carrier.
