Columbia Regional Airport and American Airlines formally announce an additional flight choice from COU

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

American Airlines and Columbia Regional Airport (COU) are excited to announce additional flight choices between Columbia and Chicago. In response to our customers' requests, American Airlines will add a second daily nonstop between COU and Chicago O'Hare (ORD) beginning April 2, 2014.

·         American flight 3376 will depart COU daily at 6 a.m. and arrive at ORD at 7:05 a.m.

·         American flight 3737 will depart ORD daily at 6:35 p.m. and arrive at COU at 7:45 p.m.

Both of the additional flights are now available in the American Airlines reservation system for pre-booking at AA.com.

"Mid-Missouri's relationship with American Airlines is healthy, strong and growing. Mid-Missouri will soon see a total of four daily flights to Chicago O'Hare and Dallas Fort Worth, the second largest and fourth largest airports in the world," said Mayor Bob McDavid.

"American remains very pleased with our service at Columbia Regional Airport and the tremendous support we've received from the Mid-Missouri community," said Dale Morris, American's Regional Vice President - Government Affairs. "We are excited to add a second daily flight between Columbia and our Chicago hub, giving customers throughout the region easier access to this important business market and key international gateway."

The number of flight options from Columbia Regional includes two daily nonstops to Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and a daily nonstop to Chicago O'Hare (ORD) with the second flight choice beginning April 2. From either of those two major hubs, fliers can connect to hundreds of flights and hundreds of destinations worldwide.

"This is another great example of the community partnership we have forged with American Airlines at Columbia Regional Airport," said City Manager Mike Matthes. "If you're conducting business in Chicago, you can leave from COU early in the morning and still be home in time for the local news at 9. How super is that?"

In addition to providing air service at Columbia Regional Airport, American Airlines has forged a strong relationship with the community including sponsorships with True/False Film Festival, MU Athletics and numerous other community groups and events.
