With the Holiday shopping season beginning on Thursday evening this year, Columbia Public Works reminds motorist to have plenty of patience, allow for extra time to get to your shopping destination, and use caution in work zones.
MoDOT announced earlier today that work along the Stadium corridor would be suspended on Thursday and Friday to accommodate shoppers along and near Stadium Blvd.
Columbia Public Works traffic engineers will be out watching traffic at numerous Columbia intersections near retail centers to observe traffic patterns, gather data, and report any emergency maintenance situations to the appropriate crews. Traffic engineers may also make slight adjustments to city maintained traffic control signals if the need arises.
Columbia Public Works wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday.
