MEDIA RELEASE - 11-25-13
COLUMBIA POLICE INVESTIGATE STRONG ARM ROBBERY
On 11-24-13, at 9:45 P.M., officers were dispatched to 21 Broadway Village, Broadway Village Apartments, to contact a 23 year old male who had been the victim of a strong arm robbery. The victim, who is from Jefferson City, advised he had made arrangements through Craigslist to meet at the location to buy a cell phone.
The victim reported instead of buying a phone, he was assaulted by two suspects who took his money, wallet, and phone. The victim stated the suspects then left on foot. A Boone County Sheriff Department K-9 assisted and attempted a track of the suspects, but it was unsuccessful.
The victim sustained minor injuries but did not seek medical attention at the scene.
Suspect Descriptions:
Suspect 1- black male, approximately 19 years of age, 5'5", 125 lbs, thin build, wearing a dark shirt and jeans
Suspect 2- black male, unknown height, weight, and clothing.
