Columbia Parks and Recreation is offering free transportation to the SPOOKtacular at the Central Missouri Events Center (5212 Oakland Gravel Road). The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on October 31.
SPOOKtacular, formerly known as Tiger Night of Fun, is in a new location this year. Previously it was held at Hearnes Center, which is more centrally located. Parks and Recreation hopes to able to assist families who may not have transportation to get to the Events Center.
There are 42 seats available on three shuttles; registration will begin on October 16. The shuttles will leave promptly at 5:45 p.m. on October 31 from the parking lot just east of the Armory Sports Center. Riders will be responsible for catching the shuttle at the front of the Central Missouri Events Center by 7:30 that evening to return to the Armory.
To register for the shuttle, call the Armory at 817-5077 no later than October 30. Once the seats fill, names will be placed on a waiting list.
Please keep in mind:
- The event is geared towards youth ages 12 & under. Priority will be given to that age group.
- Each child or group of children must have ONE adult along to be responsible for that child or group of children at the event, and while riding the shuttle.
- Columbia Parks & Recreation staff will not responsible for supervising children while at the event.
SPOOKtacular will provide families a safe alternative to door-to-door trick-or-treating, with all sorts of ghostly activities, including games and candy for kids ages 12 and under. For more information, please call Parks and Recreation at 874-7460.
