Burglar Arrested On Newton Drive

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

BURGLAR ARRESTED ON NEWTON DRIVE

On 9/16/13 at 4:00 P.M., officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Proctor Drive in reference to a burglary report. The investigation revealed a suspect entered the residence through a side window and stole several items.  The investigation led officers to an address in the 800 block of Easter Lane. Officers obtained a search warrant and located a laptop that was stolen during a burglary in the 2000 block of Bear Creek Drive on 1/11/13 as well as additional items recovered from the Proctor Drive burglary. 

On 9/17/13 at 9:45 P.M., officers responded to 2001 Newton Drive to try and locate the suspect Wayne Bryant II. While officers were at the front door of the residence speaking to a female subject, Bryant exited out of the back window of the residence and tried to climb a fence.  Officers positioned at the back of the residence took Bryant into custody. 

Bryant was arrested for receiving stolen property felony with a bond of $4,500.00, and resisting or interfering with an arrest with a bond of $4,500.00 from the Bear Creek Drive Burglary.  Bryant was arrested on additional charges for possession of burglary tools with a bond of $4,500.00 and receiving stolen property felony with a bond of $4,500.00 for the Proctor Drive Burglary.  Bryant was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for burglary in the second degree with a bond of $4,500.00.  Bryant was transferred and released to the Boone County Jail.
