Parks and Recreation Presents Family Fun Fests

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Celebrate Bike, Walk and Wheel Week and learn about ways to stay fit at the next Family Fun Fest! Parks and Recreation will hold the "Fitness is Fun" Family Fun Fest from 6 to 8 p.m. on May 18 at Flat Branch Park. This month's theme:

 May 18: Fitness is Fun, sponsored by the ARC: The event will be full of fun demonstrations and hand-on activities. Features include Flipz USA, Moon Belly Dancing, Hometown Clogging, Missouri Diving Club, Bike Polo Team and Columbia Bike Club.

Columbia Mayor Bob McDavid will read the Let's Move Cities and Towns proclamation in celebration of the annual Bike, Walk and Wheel Week which is being held this year from May 14-21.

Other activities at Family Fun Fest will include hopscotch, hula hoops, jump roping, golf, four square and more. Also, kids will have the chance to check out a fire truck from the City ofColumbia.

The Fun Fests feature a new theme each month and offer free entertainment for the entire family such as music, special performances, art activities, bounce-houses, hands-on activities, balloon-animals, face painting and fun for all ages.

The Family Fun Fests are sponsored by the Convention & Visitors Bureau, KPLA 101.5, KOMU TV8, EntPro Entertainment and Columbia Home & Lifestyle Magazine.
