DETAILS OF INCIDENT:
Crash occurred when vehicle #1, a 1999 Ford F-150, was traveling westbound on Ash St. at a high rate of speed approaching Ridgeway and vehicle #2, a 2003 Pontiac Grand AM, was stopped at the stop sign on Ridgeway and Ash. Driver #2 did not see vehicle #1 and conducted a left turn onto Ash from Ridgeway in front of the path of vehicle #1. Driver #1 was unable to stop and struck vehicle #2 in the driver side door. Driver #1 left the scene on foot.
Driver #2 and all passengers in vehicle #2 had to be extricated by Columbia Fire personnel and were transported from the scene by EMS personnel to University Hospital for serious injuries.
