TWO SEPARATE INCIDENTS OVERNIGHT
On 7/26/13 at 5:53 A.M., officers were dispatched to a shots fired in the area of Appalachian and Altai. Officers arrived on scene and found a Jeep parked parallel to the curb directly in front of a residence in the 3300 block of Appalachian Drive struck by gunfire through the rear windshield. Officers located five spent casings near the vehicle. Witnesses described seeing a red sport utility vehicle leaving the area. There have been no injuries reported and the only damage found was on the parked vehicle. There is no further suspect information and the investigation is ongoing.

On 7/26/13 at 4:25 A.M., officers were dispatched to a burglary in the 1200 block of E. Walnut Street. The investigation revealed the female victim was asleep in her apartment when she felt someone touching her sexually. The victim woke up and saw a male who was possibly from the country of India getting out of her bed and putting on his shorts. The suspect immediately left the apartment in an unknown direction of travel. The victim left her door unlocked to her apartment. The victim could not provide any further description of the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
