Media Release ~ April 29, 2011
Columbia Police Department Now on Facebook
The Columbia Police Department recently created and published a Facebook page. The page is designed to provide the community with updates, events, crime prevention tips, scams to watch out for, and other timely information. Users have already expressed interest in the posting of “Columbia’s Most Wanted” and road closure information.
The Department encourages people to “like” the page so they can stay informed of important information. The page has already been used to solicit tips about the disappearance of 17 year old Kylan Stubler, as well as post pictures of the missing teen in the hopes that the community may be able to offer information.
The administrator of the page is Sergeant Jill Wieneke, the Public Realtions Unit Supervisor. Any suggestions, questions, tips or feedback are welcome and can be submitted to her.
