A Public Hearing concerning the Fairview Road Sidewalk Improvement Project is scheduled during the City Council meeting on Monday, July 1 at 7:00 PM in the Council Chamber of the City Hall Building, 701 E. Broadway, Columbia, Missouri.
The Fairview Road Sidewalk Project, from Highland Drive to West Broadway, is part of the Non Motorized Transportation (GetAbout) program. Preliminary design of this project was completed under original GetAbout Phae I funding. The project includes construction of a 6-foot wide sidewalk at the back of the curb on the east side of Fairview Road from Highland Drive to West Broadway. The concept includes approximately 1,100 linear feet of sidewalk and reconstruction of two driveways to meet ADA requirements. Staff anticipates approximately 13 trees will need to be removed to construct this project. Staff anticipates construction could be complete by the end of 2014.
An interested parties meeting was held for this project in May 2008. A second interested parties meeting was held on April 23, 2013 due to the amount of time which had passed since the initial meeting.
The project is estimated to cost $152, 900.
A copy of the letter to property owner and interested parties, and supporting council documents are attached to this release.
