Arrest From Shots Fired on Elm Grove Drive

ARREST FROM SHOTS FIRED ON ELM GROVE DRIVE

On 2/28/13 at 8:45 P.M., officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of Elm Grove Drive in reference to shots fired. The investigation revealed a blue Jeep Cherokee with no license plate drove down Elm Grove Drive toward Brown Station.  The passenger of the vehicle later identified as Brock Griffith fired two shots from a handgun in the air.

Officers in the area observed the blue Jeep Cherokee traveling southbound on Brown Station Road. A traffic stop was conducted on the Jeep at 3009 Paris Road at 8:45 P.M.  The passenger of the vehicle took off running and officers took Brock Griffith into custody. Officers found a loaded handgun on Griffith in his pants pocket. The firearm was discovered to have been stolen from a Columbia Police Department case in 2009.  Officers located one casing in the 3200 block of Elm Grove Drive. There was no one injured.

Brock Griffith, 25, was arrested for receiving stolen property felony with a bond of $10,000.00 cash only, resisting or interfering with an arrest with a bond of $10,000.00 cash only, unlawful for certain persons to possession concealed firearm with a bond of $10,000.00 cash only, unlawful use of weapons felony with a bond of $20,000.00 cash only, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia with a bond of $500.00.
