Columbia Parks and Recreation is planning the next in a series of K.E.Y. (Keep Embracing Youth) overnight lock-in events for teens between the ages of 13 and 17.
The next lock-in for boys will be held from 8:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. this Friday, Jan. 18. The next girls lock-in will be held from 8:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. the night of Friday, Jan. 25. Lock-ins take place at the Armory Sports Center (701 E. Ash) and cost $5 per teen.
The purpose of this program is to provide a supervised, learning and mature experience for youth. The lock-ins include group challenges, board and party games, video games, sports, game tournaments, and food. Youth also participate in important, structured discussions that involve topics such as respect, making smart choices, career paths, online safety, relationships, and much more.
